During my stay in Calgary, while I was attending school, I encountered major problems with my vehicle. After many attempts from mechanics in my hometown (which is out of province) and other establishments in Calgary, outcomes were always unsuccessful. A classmate, also originally from out of province, recommended Jorge. Jorge took this on as a personal challenge. He diagnosed the problems that were never remedied and has left my car issue free. JRS is a great garage. Jorge is personal; it's easy to talk and discuss what's wrong with the vehicle, what are your options, and pricing. I don't know what a garage typically charges but I genuinely believe I get what I pay for. He does a solid job, he does it on time, and he will go the extra mile just to make sure my truck is cared for. I will definitely use JRS as my resident garage. In fact, my truck is in there as we speak.

I was referred to Jorge by my boyfriend’s family and I can tell why they recommend him! Though he didn’t do any work on my car (check engine light + inspection), he was honest about what he found and how critical it was. I’ll be going to JRS for future work.

It is now 2015 and I am torn updating this review. I would like more people to know about this great automotive shop so Jorge stays in business, but I want to keep it to myself so I can always get in right away.

Anyway, I am still very gladly going to JRS Auto and am continuing to appreciate a capable, honest and ethical shop for my vehicles. I used to stress (A LOT) about even dropping my vehicles off at a quick lube place or established dealership. Not so any longer and I couldn't be happier with their automotive expertise.

I have been coming to this business for 8 years for my family vehicles. There is no one I trust more with ensuring my family safety. Fair and accurate assessments, and timely repairs. You can trust JRS without question, even though Jorge is very good at explaining the needs of your vehicles, and ensuring that you are aware of key maintanance intervals.

Edit: I need to add more praise. I continue to have great service and an amazing performance return on my investment. It I'd incredible how well my vehicle is performing. My truck is more fun now than it has ever been. These people really listen to you and respond appropriately to your requests.

More importantly when they know someone can do one activity better, they have a network of closely located businesses to support those needs, and they are not shy about making sure the right people care for your needs.

I would give more than 5 stars if possible. This business deserves 50 stars.

Jorge is great. I took my car here for an out of province inspection, expecting a lot of work needed and I did. It wasn't a cheap day but Jorge did everything he could to save me on costs without cutting corners. He took the time to explain not only what needed to be done but why it needed to be done and what the functionality of some of the repaired parts was. It's difficult to find a shop I could trust as someone who just recently moved here but my TL will see Jorge & Andrea any time it needs service going forward due to the honesty, openness and what I consider to be reasonable rates.

I found JRS on google and listened to the 5 star reviews. They did not disappoint! Everyone who we have talked to are professional and very courteous. They always call to discuss their assessments and are honest about the must fixes vs the nice to fix. I never pressured to get everything done at once. We were so pleased with our experiences and highly recommend Jorge and team!

The Owner, Jr, was very kind and understanding. He performed a free estimate on my vehicle in a timely manner and made an effort to resolve my mechanical issue (hub assembly) so I could get back on the road and to work on time. Highly recommend JRS! We were told about this shop by a friend several years ago and have only taken our vehicles to Jorge ever since. He is friendly, knowledgable, and fair. He is willing to work within your budget and will prioritize work that must be done vs minor issues that should just be monitored. I've been a loyal customer of JRS Automotive for years, and have always been VERY satisfied with Jorge's repair work. Undoubtedly he is one of the best mechanics in Calgary! He always finds innovative ways to repair things that other shops would surely dismiss as too difficult or even irreparable. His work is of the highest quality, and his billing is very reasonable. He is an honest man, and a trusted technician.

I booked an appointment after very positive referrals from family and friends and couldn’t be more satisfied. The work was done well and on time and the trustworthy service people made me feel I was in good hands. Very good value for service. I am a convert and will continue to use JRS.

JRS Automotive has been an amazing shop for me to bring my car to when it has had issues. Dealerships that I called had outrageous wait times and prices. I had both an engine misfire diagnosed and repaired in the same day and transmission fluid change done all with prompt time and no hassles afterwards. I was always concerned about bringing my vehicle to 3rd party mechanics because its on the older side and was worried that something may occur that they wouldnt be able to deal with but JRS Automotive has shown me that is is 100% better to go with them, and for the forseeable future I will continue to bring my vehicles there for any maintainance purposes.

Was referred to JRS Automotive by a friend (Jay) and I am very impressed the honesty and integrity of Jorge over the past year with the following with my 2007 Camry Hybrid:

1. Experienced a total brake failure - Jorge recommended I get this repaired at the Toyota dealership, due to electronics programming possibly required.

2. Experienced windshield wiper fluid failure - a hose had come off, which he found and fixed NO CHARGE within 5 minutes.

3. Oil change service last week - very timely and reasonable service; and also provided a ONE TIME complimentary vehicle inspection ($149 value) for no extra charge.

I find Jorge very easy to talk with, explains any recommended repairs thoroughly and costs to repair. I even received a follow-up phone call to ensure that I was satisfied with the service provided.

Bottom line...would definitely recommend JRS Automotive to anyone interested in honesty and integrity in the auto mechanic industry.

Jorge and co have never been short of amazing. Jorge is honest, forthright, and detail oriented. His prices are always reasonable (even for the mundane things, like oil changes, tire swaps, filter replacements, etc.). Most importantly, no matter the issue, he always explains the WHY behind it. He always asks BEFORE performing anything, gives alternative recommendations, and has plenty of fantastic contacts for when the work is beyond his scope (or could be performed more cheaply elsewhere).

I'm moving 20 minutes south in the next couple of months but have been so happy with Jorge's service over the past decade that I'll continue to frequent his shop.

I've been to quite a few auto body shops in Calgary and this is definitely the best. The owner Jorge is so approachable and kind. Doesn't make me feel dumb at all if I don't know different parts of the car. Everytime we've been there we leave feeling so happy we went to him. All the work he and his team have done to our vehicles is so high quality and thorough. I always leave there feeling like I have a brand new car!

Jrs is my go to. I have always had a difficult time trusting mechanics, mainly cause my dad (also a mechanic) taught me there are a lot who will just try and use lack of experience to make $$$.

Jrs has made recommendations on my car that my father agrees with. I trust that JRS knows what they are doing and will only "sell" me on what they truly think I need.

After having a very poor customer service with one of the big chain tire shops, I was referred to Jorge and JRS Automotive by a trusted friend. I was not disappointed! I was able to buy 4 winter tires and have them installed in 48 hours. Jorge and his staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable on what type of winter tires I would need and I didn't feel I was being sold anything extra I didn't need. I will be bringing all my families vehicles to Jorge for maintenance and servicing from now on. Good customer service goes a long way and JRS has perfected it!

Had an issue with the power steering on my inlaw’s car and took it in to get fixed. Jorge was very good about communicating what he found. He could have easily upsold things that were not needed, but he did the work that was necessary to get the car roadworthy. I would definitely recommend this shop for honest, quick repairs.

Very friendly customer service. Dropped my vehicle off and received a call after it was diagnosed with the proposed options. I was explained the process fully and the options that would save me money. Got a call when it was ready and the work was exceptional. I am absolutely happy with the provided service of Winter Tire change. They found space in their busy schedule when all other companies only offer time after Dec 1. They also did full inspection of my car and provided with full report (no Canadian Tire, no Kaltire did this service for free). I lost my block heater rosette and they installed new one. These guys are true professionals. Respectful, polite and fast working. Called ahead of time and they got my car in pretty much same day. Had to have my rear shocks replaced. When the shocks they were going to put in were found to be out of stock they managed to find equal quality parts and saved me over 500$ from what I was expecting to pay. Any other shop would have charged me the full amount quoted initially but they chose to be better than that. 5/5 would recommend
